Australia Awards Fellowships aim to build networks of influence and leadership by strengthening partnerships between Australian organisations and partner organisations in the region. Fellowships target senior and mid-career officials and professionals who are in a position to advance development outcomes in priority areas and increase the institutional capacity of partner countries through their leadership.
Australia Awards Fellowships provide short-term opportunities for in-Australia study, research and professional development activities, hosted by Australian organisations – and do not lead to academic qualifications. Application rounds are held through a competitive selection process.

- This fellowship will cover candidates’ return air travel expenses.
- Funding up to 30,000 Australian dollars can be provided to successful candidates.
- All expenses related to the training of candidates will be covered.
- The fellowship also covers the accommodation.

- Candidates will be provided with medical insurance.
- The overhead fee for the program will also be covered.
Eligibility Criteria for Australia Awards Fellowships 2024:
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for this fellowship.
- Candidates must be residents of an eligible country.
- Applicants must not be permanent residents of Australia.
- The candidate must be at least 18 years old.
- Candidates must be physically capable of participating in the Fellowship.
- They must not be active-duty members of the military.
- Candidates must meet all Department of Home Affairs requirements for student visas subclass 500.
- Applicants must be proficient in the English language.
- Because DFAT will only fund and provide visa support letters for individual Fellows, not their family members, all applicants must be able to travel without family members.
