Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Program | Funded

The Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is an established national initiative, funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and managed by the Irish Research Council. A new national research agency, Taighde Éireann/Research Ireland, has been established by the government. The agency will amalgamate the work of the Irish Research Council and Science Foundation Ireland. The full operation of Taighde Éireann will be enabled over the coming period.

Benefits of the Government of Ireland Fellowship Program:

  • There is no age limit to apply for this opportunity.
  • Students will get a salary of €46,305 in the first year of their study as an award.
  • Students will get a salary of €47,879 in the second year of their study as an award.
  • This salary can be used to cover living expenses which include accommodation and meals.
  • There will be employer’s PRSI contribution.
  • Students will also €5,000 per annum for research expenses.

Eligibility Criteria for Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Program:

  • All applicants have to complete and pass an initial eligibility
  • screening quiz on the online application system before starting their application form.
  • Along with this quiz, other eligibility requirements should also be fulfilled.
  • If the Irish Research Council finds that the applicant does not fulfill the eligibility criteria at any phase of the application, the application and the award will be cancelled.
  • Applicants should know English language.
