INTRODUCTION

The University of Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and is regarded as one of the world’s leading academic institutions, with 38 independent colleges and 6 permanent private halls. The University is a member of the Russell Group of research-led British universities, the Coimbra Group (a network of leading European universities), the League of European Research Universities, and is also a core member of the Europaeum. Academically, Oxford is consistently ranked in the world’s top five universities.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS/FINANCIAL SUPPORT

• The scholarship will last for 3 to 4 years depending on the course length.
• Also, the scholarship will include course fees, a grant for living costs, and one return air fare per year.
• Likewise, this scholarship covers 2 – 3 awards per year.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be nationals of countries who receive official development assistance from the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

IMPORTANT NOTICE

• Scholars will be expected to write an annual report about their academic and social activities, and achievements at the University.
• Receipt of the award in subsequent years is subject to satisfactory academic progress.
• Applicants should be aware that competition for the scheme is very high and the University does not have additional funding for those candidates who are not offered a scholarship.
