Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is now accepting applications for its prestigious International Scholarships for Semester 2, 2025. These scholarships aim to recognize and support high-achieving international students from around the world. They are designed to ease the financial burden of tuition while encouraging academic excellence.
Students can apply until 11:55 PM on Monday, May 19, 2025 (NZ Time). However, applications will close earlier if all scholarship spaces are filled before the deadline. Therefore, interested students should apply as soon as possible.

Scholarship Value and Duration
AUT International Scholarships are awarded to students in their first year of full-time study. The scholarship acts as a tuition fee credit. The amount depends on the level of study:
- Undergraduate students will receive NZD 5,000 toward their tuition.
- Postgraduate students will receive NZD 7,000 toward their tuition.
- Doctoral programmes are not eligible for this scholarship.
Furthermore, the Dean’s Merit Scholarships are available for students enrolling in the Bachelor of Business program. This award offers NZD 7,000 in the first year and NZD 3,000 in the second year. To be eligible, students must have a B+ GPA or higher in their most recent qualification. The total value of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship is NZD 10,000 over two years.
Key Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, students must:
- Be international students (not citizens, permanent residents, or resident visa holders of New Zealand or Australia).
- Enroll in an eligible bachelor’s or postgraduate programme, with a duration of 120 points or more.
- Complete the first semester successfully by passing all papers.
After meeting these conditions, the scholarship funds will be applied to their tuition for the second semester. This usually takes place in January or February, after AUT’s summer shutdown period and the release of semester grades.
