YBB – The EU Delegation to Indonesia–ASEAN Funded Traineeship 2026 offers a valuable opportunity for young graduates who are interested in international relations and diplomacy. Through this program, participants can gain first-hand experience inside a diplomatic mission while contributing to EU–ASEAN cooperation.

The EU Delegation to ASEAN, based in Jakarta, represents the European Union’s interests and values across the ASEAN region. Since its establishment in 2015, the delegation has served as a key contact point between EU and ASEAN institutions. Moreover, it plays a central role in strengthening the strategic partnership between both regions through political dialogue, public diplomacy, and cooperation initiatives.

Main Responsibilities
During the traineeship, participants will actively contribute to daily operations. Key tasks include:
- Preparing ASEAN Weekly News briefings
- Supporting monthly social media planning to enhance EU visibility
- Assisting with political reporting, speeches, and briefings
- Contributing to the organization of events and policy dialogues
- Conducting political analysis related to ASEAN developments
- Supporting public diplomacy and cultural activities, such as Europe Day and Climate Week
- Completing research projects assigned during the traineeship period
As a result, trainees will develop strong analytical, communication, and policy-related skills.
Financial Support
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to help cover living expenses. However, candidates must personally cover costs related to travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation.

Selection Process
After submission, all applications will be reviewed. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for an interview. Meanwhile, unsuccessful applicants will be informed by email. If selected candidates fail to provide required documents, their application will be rejected.
In addition, traineeships are offered only in compliance with local legislation and the legislation of the trainee’s country of origin.
The application deadline is 31 January 2026 at 12:00 Jakarta time, therefore early preparation is strongly recommended.
