Osaka, Japan — Group 3 has won 1st Place Best Idea Innovation Senior Level at Japan Youth Summit 2026, an international youth program initiated by Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB).
The team received the award for Learning Without Limits, an initiative that aims to connect access to education with meaningful learning opportunities. The project focuses on inclusive education, highlighting the importance of helping children enter school while ensuring they receive quality learning experiences.
Meet the Team Behind Learning Without Limits
Behind Learning Without Limits is a team of three members with diverse backgrounds and professional experience. Their different perspectives helped shape an approach that addresses both access to education and the quality of learning.
- Miranda Namicheishvili — Georgia, a filmmaker, educator, entrepreneur, and PhD student.
- Humrah Almumtihanah — Indonesia, a law graduate and active education volunteer.
- Sharjeel Ahmad Kakvi — India, a doctor, youth parliamentarian, and FIFA Educator.
Through their collaboration, Group 3 developed an initiative that supports not only children who are out of school but also those already attending school who need additional support to strengthen their foundational skills.
The Story Behind Learning Without Limits
Quality education is about more than getting children into school. It is also about ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop essential skills.
In developing their project, Group 3 highlighted UNESCO data showing that approximately 273 million children and young people of primary and secondary school age were out of school worldwide in 2024.
This challenge led the team to identify two major gaps: the access gap, which refers to barriers that prevent children from entering formal education, and the learning gap, which reflects difficulties in developing essential skills and staying engaged in the learning process.
Learning Without Limits addresses both challenges through community involvement and technology-supported learning. The initiative aims to help children access education while giving them more opportunities to explore ideas, understand information, and apply what they learn.
Exploring Learning Without Limits: Two Phases for More Inclusive Education
Learning Without Limits is built around two complementary phases designed to address educational access and learning quality.
Phase 1: Each Child Teach Child — Opening Doors to Education
The first phase focuses on helping children enter formal education through family engagement, supervised peer support, and school transition assistance.
Activities are designed to include needs assessments, family counseling, school visits, learning support, and progress evaluations. By involving families and communities, the initiative aims to identify educational barriers and help children take their next steps toward school.
Phase 2: Virtual Story — Making Learning More Meaningful
The second phase introduces story-based learning through Virtual Story. Children are encouraged to read or listen to stories, make choices, explain their reasoning, check their understanding, and retell what they have learned.
This approach aims to strengthen literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills through active participation. Instead of simply receiving information, children are encouraged to think, make decisions, and take part in the learning process.
Together, these two phases address different needs. Children who are out of school receive support to enter formal education, while those already attending school can strengthen their learning skills.
Connecting Access to Education with Lifelong Learning
Group 3’s achievement at Japan Youth Summit 2026 recognizes an innovative idea that brings educational access and learning quality together.
Through Learning Without Limits, Miranda Namicheishvili, Humrah Almumtihanah, and Sharjeel Ahmad Kakvi propose an approach that combines community support, school transition assistance, and story-based learning to address educational challenges.
More than a technology-driven idea, the project highlights the importance of creating learning experiences that respond to children’s needs. Technology can enrich education, but family involvement, guidance, school access, and ongoing evaluation remain essential to delivering quality education.
With its proposed approach, Learning Without Limits offers a meaningful perspective on inclusive education: every child deserves not only the opportunity to attend school but also the chance to learn, grow, and build a better future.
Through initiatives like this, Youth Break the Boundaries continues to encourage young people to develop innovative ideas and explore solutions to global challenges.
Because education should not stop at opening classroom doors. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn without limits.
Muhammad Aldi Subakti, Chairman of Japan Youth Summit 2026, congratulated Group 3 on their achievement and praised their initiative to address educational challenges.
“Congratulations to Group 3 on winning first place. We hope Learning Without Limits continues to develop and inspires more young people to create solutions that make quality education accessible to every child. Keep innovating and making a positive impact,” said Aldi.
