Singapore Legal Service (SLS) has officially opened applications for its biannual internship programme for 2025/2026. This programme provides law undergraduates and JD students with hands-on experience in various government agencies. Eligible students can apply before the deadlines to secure a position and gain valuable legal exposure.
Internship Overview
The Singapore Legal Service internship is open to students pursuing a recognised law degree under the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules. To qualify, applicants must be studying at one of the following institutions:
- National University of Singapore (NUS)
- Singapore Management University (SMU)
- Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)
- A Scheduled University
The internship runs twice a year, aligning with academic vacation periods.
- Mid-2025 Cycle: May – September 2025 (Application closed)
- Late-2025/Early-2026 Cycle: November 2025 – February 2026
- Application deadline: 31 July 2025
- Notification of acceptance: September 2025
Interns will receive a monthly internship allowance, which will be pro-rated based on actual working hours. This financial support ensures interns can focus on gaining practical experience without financial strain.
