Vina Muliana has become a prominent young figure in Indonesia’s digital landscape. As a TikTok content creator and a BUMN employee, she consistently shares insightful content related to career development. Her journey from a model to a public speaker and career coach has inspired millions.
She was born as Vina Andhiani Muliana on January 19, 1994. Vina is the eldest of two children in a family of mixed Betawi and Sundanese heritage. She decided to wear a hijab in 2007 due to a personal vow. Her family frequently moved for her father’s job, and Vina wanted stability by studying in Jakarta.
Early Career Journey
Vina began her career as a freelance hijab model in Bandung in 2011. A chance encounter with Ghaida Tsurayya, a designer and the daughter of Aa Gym, opened her first opportunity. As her network expanded, she began working with agencies in Jakarta. Even though hijab modeling had limitations, she remained active while pursuing her studies.
In 2014, Vina joined the Abang None Jakarta contest. She won the title, becoming the first hijabi winner in the pageant’s history. Her victory granted her a 100 million rupiah deposit prize. During her tenure, she accompanied the Governor of Jakarta and participated in cultural programs, including international visits to Berlin.
Transition to Journalism and BUMN
In 2015, Vina joined Liputan6.com as a business reporter. She hosted a special segment titled Berani Beda. After three years in journalism, she transitioned to a role in public communication at a state-owned company. Her performance eventually led to a promotion as Assistant to the Deputy Minister of BUMN. Since 2019, she has worked with Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) as a Senior Associate in Human Capital.
Rise as a TikTok Content Creator
Vina started her TikTok journey in February 2021. At first, she only observed trends. But then, the lack of accessible career guidance content drove her to create her own videos. Her debut video, themed “Kerja di Kementerian rasa Start-Up Check,” quickly went viral.
By the end of the first month, she had gained over 100,000 followers. After three months, her audience surpassed one million. As of October 2022, her TikTok account @vmuliana has more than 4.9 million followers. She mainly shares content about:
- Personal branding strategies
- LinkedIn optimization
- Job interview tips
- Navigating BUMN recruitment
Her consistent content creation earned her the “Best of Learning & Education” award at the TikTok Indonesia Awards in 2021.
Academic Achievements
Vina earned her undergraduate degree in Agrotechnology from Universitas Padjadjaran. She represented Indonesia at the Harvard National Model United Nations in 2014. Despite having to delay her graduation, she saw the Abang None experience as worth the sacrifice.
Later, she pursued her Master’s degree in Communication Studies at the London School of Public Relations. Vina completed her studies in 2017 with a full scholarship while working as a reporter.

In 2022, Forbes Indonesia listed Vina among the prestigious 30 Under 30 for her contributions in Media, Marketing, and Advertising. She continues to be a role model for Gen Z professionals navigating the modern job market.
