Osaka, Japan — Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) once again hosted the Japan Youth Summit (JYS) 2026, held on May 11–14, 2026, in Osaka, Japan. The program became a collaborative platform for young people from various countries to exchange ideas and create innovative solutions for global challenges.
Carrying the theme “Innovation Beyond Borders: Building the Future through Collaboration,” JYS 2026 featured a series of leadership development activities, international discussions, cultural exchange sessions, and innovation project collaborations.
The program focused on strengthening youth capacity in education, innovation, sustainable development, and global collaboration.
Day 1: First Encounters and Building Global Connections
The program began with airport assistance, participant registration, and hotel check-ins for delegates arriving from different countries. The first day marked the beginning of global networking opportunities as participants adapted to the international environment of the summit.
The atmosphere became more engaging through welcoming sessions and networking activities among delegates. Participants started learning about each other’s cultural backgrounds while building cross-cultural communication, which became one of the key foundations of the summit.
Day one also introduced the broader vision of JYS 2026 as a platform for global youth collaboration in creating impactful innovations.

Day 2: Exploring Osaka and Strengthening Cultural Exchange
On the second day, participants joined a series of city tours and university visits around Osaka. These activities were designed to broaden cultural experiences while strengthening interactions among international delegates.
By visiting Osaka Castle, Katsuoji Temple, and The Museum Osaka University, delegates explored the atmosphere of Osaka while learning directly about Japanese culture. Through these experiences, participants not only enjoyed an international journey but also gained insights into the social values, culture, and discipline of Japanese society.
The city tour became one of the moments that strengthened relationships among participants. The interactions built throughout the trip showed how cultural diversity can create an inclusive and enjoyable learning environment.
Day 3: International Symposium and Project Presentation
The third day became one of the main highlights of JYS 2026 through the International Symposium and Cultural Project Presentation.
During these sessions, participants presented ideas, innovations, and solutions developed through cross-country group collaborations. The topics discussed covered several aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through the presentation sessions, delegates demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and international teamwork. The forum also became a discussion space that brought together global perspectives from different cultural backgrounds.
In the evening, participants joined a cultural exchange session showcasing the diversity of identities and cultures from each participating country. The event also included an awarding session for delegates who demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the program.
Day 4: Farewell Session and Program Closing
On the final day, participants attended the farewell session as the closing of JYS 2026. The moment became a space for reflection after experiencing several days of international collaboration and cultural exchange.
The farewell atmosphere was warm and filled with appreciation. The session symbolized not only the end of the program but also the beginning of long-term collaboration among global youth.
