Osaka, Japan — Registration for the Japan Youth Summit (JYS) 2027 is officially open to international participants. Held for the fifth time, the program will take place in Osaka, Japan, from May 10–13, 2027, focusing on innovative projects that address social and environmental issues through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
More than just a competition, JYS is a transformative journey where young people build their confidence and capacity to #LeadTheFuture in their communities and beyond. With the 2027 theme, “Youth Innovation for a World Without Limits,” and the tagline “Innovate for Tomorrow,” JYS continues its mission to nurture young changemakers, celebrate diversity, and build a global network that transcends national borders.
What Is the Japan Youth Summit?
The Japan Youth Summit is an international program initiated by Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB). Participants will collaborate across countries to design and present social projects that address global challenges.
In 2027, participants’ projects will focus on five SDGs:
- SDG 4: Quality Education
- SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
- SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
- SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- SDG 13: Climate Action

Fully Funded Opportunity
JYS 2027 also offers a Fully Funded opportunity through a competitive selection process. Applicants will be assessed based on their registration forms, essays, and interviews.
Applicants who are not selected for the fully funded scheme may still participate through the Self-Funded scheme without having to register again.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to:
- Young people aged 15–40
- Applicants of all nationalities
- Applicants from all educational backgrounds
- Applicants with no criminal record
- Applicants with no affiliation with extremist organizations
- IELTS/TOEFL is not required
