About the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2027

The Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship is a five-month hybrid leadership program that equips emerging professionals with the knowledge, networks, and practical skills needed to address global climate challenges.

The fellowship begins with a fully funded orientation week at Yale University from 1–5 February 2027. Afterwards, fellows will participate in a series of interactive virtual sessions between March and June 2027, focusing on climate policy, clean energy transition, and international cooperation.

The program concludes with a second fully funded in-person session in Paris, France, from 14–18 June 2027. During this final stage, participants will collaborate on policy recommendations, engage with representatives from international organizations and government institutions, and present their findings to an advisory committee.

Fellowship Benefits

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Have approximately five to ten years of professional experience with demonstrated achievements at the local, regional, or international level.
  • Represent countries in the Global South, including developing nations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America or the Caribbean.
  • Demonstrate strong English language proficiency.
  • Be available to participate in all program components, including two in-person sessions and five virtual sessions.
  • Commit to working collaboratively on a group project.

Although there is no formal age limit, preference will be given to younger professionals.
