Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), a German educational foundation, is opening a scholarship program for international students with high achievements and motivation. This program not only provides financial support, but also builds international networks and hones leadership with democratic and humanitarian values.
Who Can Register?
This scholarship is suitable for those who have graduated and want to continue their master’s or doctoral studies, or research in Germany for at least 4 semesters. KAS is looking for candidates who not only have good academic grades. But are also active in social or volunteer activities. Have German language skills at least level B2. And are interest in socio political issues.
What is also important is that you must have an open attitude, be tolerant, and care about the values of democracy and human rights. Clear motivation. Your study plans are also considered in the selection. The supported study levels are Masters (S2), Doctorate (S3), Research (minimum 4 semesters).

General Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree (S1); scholarships are not available for S1 studies.
- Academic grades above average.
- German language ability at least level B2.
- Active in volunteer or social activities.
- Planning to study at least 4 semesters in Germany.
- Have an interest in political issues, democracy and human rights.
- Have high motivation and clear life goals.

What are the benefits?
If you pass, KAS will give you a monthly allowance of around €992 for masters and €1,400 for doctoral. This is enough to cover living expenses while studying in Germany. In addition, there are also health insurance subsidies, family and child allowances if you bring your family to Germany.
The scholarship also covers part of the tuition fees up to €1,500 per semester and supports research outside Germany for doctoral programs. Not only that, you can participate in more than 180 seminars and trainings every year to expand your knowledge and international network.
How to Register?
If you are from certain countries such as Uzbekistan, Mongolia, or Mexico, apply through your local KAS office and take an online interview. If you are already in Germany or studying there, apply directly through the KAS online portal at campus.kas.de before July 15th each year.
Documents that need to be completed include:
- A CV that contains academic and social experience
- A clear motivation letter
- Degrees and transcripts that have been translated
- Proof of German language ability at least B2
- Two letters of recommendation (academic and personal)
- Acceptance or registration letter from a university in Germany.
