Jooeun Kim Shared Insight on Development Cooperation at Korea Youth Summit 2025 in Seoul

Seoul, South Korea – The Korea Youth Summit 2025, hosted by Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) this June 30 – July 3, successfully gathered youth delegates from over 15 countries to engage in powerful discussions on diplomacy, sustainable development, and cultural exchange. Among the notable speakers was Jooeun Kim, a rising expert in development cooperation and international relations.

Jooeun, who is currently pursuing her Master’s in International Studies at Ewha Womans University, inspired participants with her session on Development Cooperation in the Asia Pacific Region. Drawing from both her academic and professional background, she emphasized how youth can play a key role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sharing Experience and Perspective

With a GPA of 4.26/4.30 and a strong foundation in international law and diplomacy, Jooeun is no stranger to global affairs. Her resume includes impactful roles at:

  • World Bank Group – KGGTF: where she contributed to green energy impact analysis and knowledge exchange programs.
  • CityNet Secretariat: where she helped build SDG evaluation frameworks and compiled over 400 city case studies.
  • United Nations ESCAP: where she co-authored policy reports on digital inclusion and elderly welfare.
  • Ewha GSIS: where she supported research on humanitarian aid and economic cooperation.

Her session highlighted how policy research, combined with youth-driven innovation, can create tangible development outcomes across borders.

A Youth Voice for a Global Cause

Reflecting on her summit experience, Jooeun shared:

“It has been so inspiring. I’m also a youth myself, and I was truly motivated by the presentations that introduced innovative solutions to drive more cultural synergy for sustainability.”

She also left a message for young changemakers:

“Social media is one of the most powerful tools the younger generation holds today. We can use it not just for awareness, but to preserve cultural heritage and amplify causes that deserve global attention.”

Youth Leading the Future

Jooeun Kim’s presence at the Korea Youth Summit 2025 served as a testament to how young professionals can bridge academic excellence and real-world impact. Her story empowered fellow delegates to take bold steps in international development and global cooperation.

As the summit came to a close, one message rang clear: youth are not just the future—they are the now.
