YBB – Harvard Law School is now accepting applications for the Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship 2027, a fellowship program designed for law graduates with a strong interest in legal scholarship and a commitment to pursuing a career in legal teaching.

About the Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship

Eligibility Criteria

How to Apply
The application for the Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship is submitted online through the Harvard Law School application system.
Step 1: Create a HarvardKey Account
External applicants need to create a HarvardKey account to access the application system. After registration, applicants must activate their account through the email provided during registration.
Step 2: Prepare the Application Documents
Prepare your CV, Research and Writing Project Description, Statement of Interest, and academic transcripts according to the program requirements.
The Research and Writing Project Description must be no more than four pages and should explain the research and writing project you plan to pursue during the fellowship.
The Statement of Interest must also be no more than four pages and should describe your interest in legal teaching and legal scholarship, including the area of law you intend to teach and research.
Step 3: Submit Recommendation Requests
Applicants must provide the names and email addresses of two recommenders through the application portal.
After entering their information, applicants must send the recommendation requests through the system so that the recommenders can submit their letters directly.

Step 4: Submit the Application
Complete the remaining sections of the online application and upload all required documents.
Applicants should ensure that both recommendation letters have been submitted before completing the application.
The completed application must be submitted by 1 October 2026.
Step 5: Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by the Lewis Committee at Harvard Law School.
Applicants who advance in the selection process may be invited to participate in an academic interview. Successful candidates will begin their fellowship at Harvard Law School on 1 July 2027.
