Istanbul Youth Summit 2026 Future Innovator Winners: Youth Projects Driving Sustainable Impact

Istanbul, Türkiye — February 2026Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) proudly highlights the winners of the Best Idea Innovation – Future Innovator Category at Istanbul Youth Summit (IYS) 2026. This recognition celebrates youth-led projects that demonstrate innovative thinking, measurable impact, and alignment with global development goals.

The Istanbul Youth Summit 2026 serves as an international platform that brings together emerging leaders, innovators, and changemakers from diverse countries. Throughout the program, delegates collaborated to exchange ideas and develop impactful initiatives that address global challenges.

During the summit, participants engaged in mentoring sessions, project development workshops, academic discussions, and cross-cultural exchanges. As a result, delegates strengthened their leadership capacity while transforming creative ideas into practical solutions.

Importantly, the Future Innovator category reflects the summit’s mission to empower young people to move beyond theoretical ideas. Instead, participants were encouraged to design solutions that could be implemented and scaled in real communities.

This year, the summit highlighted innovation aligned with four Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). After a rigorous evaluation process conducted by the judging panel, three teams were selected as winners.

1st Place — Group 4: Stubble Cycle

The first-place winner, Stubble Cycle, addresses one of the most urgent environmental issues in South Asia: crop stubble burning, which contributes significantly to severe air pollution and thousands of premature deaths each year.

The project is led by Amna Maqsood, Eusoff Uthman Zyad, and Mohammad Yasar. Their innovation proposes converting agricultural waste into eco-friendly products such as bio-paper and biodegradable materials through a localized processing system.

This approach strongly aligns with SDG 13 (Climate Action). By applying circular economy principles, the initiative reduces carbon emissions while creating economic opportunities for rural communities.

Moreover, the project integrates satellite monitoring, emission tracking, and community-based economic data to measure environmental impact and ensure scalability.

Mohammad Yasar explained that the project goes beyond technological innovation. He emphasized that the initiative also focuses on empowering youth and supporting women’s economic participation within rural communities.

Through skill development and employment opportunities, Stubble Cycle demonstrates how environmental innovation can simultaneously support social and economic progress.

2nd Place — Group 5: Justice Care

The second-place project, Justice Care, responds to a growing global issue: AI-generated sexual abuse and deepfake exploitation in the digital space.

The initiative was developed by Icha Choirunisa, Indhira Regina, and Amerzish Zulfiqar Malik. Their project creates a community-based justice ecosystem designed to support victims of digital abuse.

Justice Care primarily aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) while also supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) through digital literacy and legal awareness programs.

According to Icha Choirunisa, the project’s strength lies in the interdisciplinary backgrounds of the team members. Each member contributes expertise from government policy, legal advocacy, and psychology, which allows the project to address the issue from multiple perspectives.

Justice Care provides awareness webinars, reporting literacy workshops, safe-space dialogues, and a guided referral platform. These services help connect survivors with legal institutions and psychosocial support systems.

Importantly, the initiative does not aim to replace formal justice mechanisms. Instead, it strengthens institutional responsiveness and improves survivor access to legal support in the digital era.

3rd Place — Group 3: Probaplas

The third-place winner, Probaplas, focuses on addressing plastic pollution through an integrated waste transformation system.

The project was developed by Malikha Haula Karimah, Muhammad Alhafiz Arya Wardhana, and Nematov Khikmatillo. Their innovation converts plastic waste into higher-value reusable materials, which supports circular economy practices at the community level.

This initiative contributes directly to SDG 13 (Climate Action) by reducing environmental pollution while promoting sustainable resource management.

Probaplas combines environmental responsibility with technological innovation. The system provides a practical model for transforming plastic waste into reusable materials that can generate economic value.

Furthermore, the project emphasizes community participation. By involving volunteers and stakeholders from different countries, the initiative promotes global collaboration in environmental sustainability.

According to Khikmatillo, the project aims to mobilize volunteers from diverse cultures and nations to build a global network dedicated to environmental solutions.

The project focuses on expanding alternative education pathways for learners who pursue non-traditional academic routes. Through certification access and flexible learning opportunities, the initiative supports broader educational inclusion.

This project highlights how youth innovation can address educational inequality while promoting accessible learning opportunities across different communities.
