NUS–SINGA Scholarship 2025: Free PhD Study Opportunity in Singapore for International Students

The Singapore Government through collaboration betweenAgency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), National University of Singapore (NUS), and several other leading universities have reopened registrationsSingapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) for doctoral lectures (PhD) in the 2025 academic year.

This prestigious programme is aimed at outstanding international students from around the world who wish to pursue PhD studies in science, engineering, technology and biomedicine in Singapore.

About NUS–SINGA Scholarship

SINGA is a fully funded scholarship scheme that provides access for global students to study and conduct research in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the world’s top universities in Singapore such as:
1. National University of Singapore (NUS)
2. Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
3. Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
4. Singapore Management University (SMU)
5. With research support from A*STAR Research Institutes

    This scholarship is of a nature without any official ties (bond-free)and is open to all countries, including Indonesia.

    Scholarship Coverage

    NUS–SINGA scholarship recipients will receive:
    1. Full tuition free for 4 years
    2. Monthly living allowance ofSGD 2.700(around Rp. 31 million) which will increase toSGD 3.200after passing the qualifying exam
    3. One-way flight ticket to Singapore forSGD 1.500
    4. Initial adjustment fund (settling-in allowance) ofSGD 1.000
    5. Access to laboratory facilities and direct guidance from the world’s best researchers.

      Supported Fields of Study

      These scholarships focus on the following areas. Biomedical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Computing and Information Sciences. 

      You can choose up to three research projects from a list of topics provided to suit your interests.

      Conditions and Criteria

      1. Bachelor’s or Master’s graduate with excellent academic achievement
      2. Fluent in English (IELTS/TOEFL score is not required, but recommended)
      3. Two letters of recommendation from lecturers or academic supervisors
      4. Never studied in Singapore
      5. Have a strong interest in scientific research and willing to undergo a 4-year PhD program.

        Application Deadline for August 2026 Intake: December 1, 2025
