Japan Youth Summit 2025 Concludes with Inspiring Innovations and Cultural Highlights in Osaka Empowering Youth through Innovation, Collaboration, and Global Leadership

Osaka, Japan — October 15, 2025 — Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) proudly concluded the Japan Youth Summit 2025, a four-day international youth conference that brought together 107 young leaders from 25 countries in Osaka, Japan, under the theme “Innovate for Tomorrow.”

The summit, held from October 12–15, 2025, celebrated not only the achievements of young innovators but also the spirit of cross-cultural collaboration and global unity. Participants explored Japan’s cultural heritage, presented groundbreaking projects addressing global challenges, and received mentorship from distinguished experts in technology, innovation, and sustainability.

Exploring Osaka’s Cultural and Historical Heritage

As part of the summit’s cultural immersion, delegates explored the iconic Osaka Castle and the Osaka Expo site, offering firsthand insights into Japan’s innovation and resilience through history. The visits symbolized the connection between Japan’s technological advancements and its deep-rooted appreciation for tradition and culture.

Innovation Showcase and Project Presentations

The core of the summit was the Innovation and Technology Project Competition, where delegates presented over 12 innovative projects inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each group tackled real-world challenges with forward-thinking ideas, blending creativity with social impact.

The projects addressed key SDGs, including Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Climate Action (SDG 13).

Below are the project highlights from each group:

  1. MatchED (SDG 4) – An AI-powered one-stop platform simplifying global university applications and scholarships, providing personalized guidance for students worldwide.

Group 1 Members: Ana Rosado, Gavril Starostin, Murodkosimov Bakhromkhon Ilkhomovich, Nguyen Thi Phuong Nghi, Alina Erkulova, Sil Vennxae O. Necesito, Kyi Cin Shwe, Marc Ruben Claude.

  1. Language Learning from Zero (SDG 9) – An AI-based sensory learning app combining imagery, sound, and context to make language learning accessible and interactive.

Group 2 Members: Kinjal Dave, Nathan Karri, Kalpaang Sen, Pranav Suneja, Stuti Shah, Nor Ashiqeen Jamal-Din.

  1. Resilient Cities Project (SDG 11) – A disaster risk reduction initiative focusing on building resilience and reducing systemic vulnerabilities in urban areas.

Group 3 Members: Bayar-Undral Tsenddorj, Muhammad Dhani Rizqiawan, Lamya Alsalem.

  1. Plastic Roads Against Climate Change (SDG 13) – Transforming plastic waste into durable road materials as a sustainable recycling innovation.

Group 4 Members: Pratham Singh, Christine Nicole Agbayani.

  1. Waste to Worth (SDG 13) – A youth-driven maggot farming initiative using Black Soldier Fly larvae to reduce organic waste by up to 70%.

Group 5 Members (MAN 2 Kota Malang): Salman Ahmad Farras (Leader), Keisha Farras Aninditya, Al Aqib Hafizh Rahman, Zakiyah Maulidiyah D, Najmii Ardine, Shatara Rafa, Cinta Ghania Anindita, Jalu Akmal Tatag P, Prabaswara Anggara P, Muhammad Akmal Farouq, Arva Shodaqta Khalil.

  1. Vetric (SDG 9) – A renewable energy project utilizing piezoelectric road systems to generate electricity and reduce carbon emissions.

Group 6 Members (MAN 2 Kota Malang): Reno Raditya Putra (Leader), Raj Akmalazziyadatillah, Dhafin Radya Prasetyo, Tsamara Qolbi, Aufazzam Tiar Valdan, Muhammad Ibrahim Al Qutby, Aurora Mahesha Putri, Keisya Putri Yustiniarti, Reyhana Zahra Asidha, Ammar Raziq Syarifuddin, Muhammad Rifqy Fawwazi.

  1. Flashcard-Based Board Game for Quality Education (SDG 4) – Enhancing literacy and learning in under-resourced schools through interactive board games.

Group 7 Members (MAN 2 Kota Malang): Fidela Sandrina Syahru Shoumi (Leader), Daniya Azra Khalisha, Davin Athallah Sulistyawan, Alghayts, Giran Naufal Alfarizky, Mohammad Kautsar Zakaria, Muhammad Kahfi Al Fahrezi, Nararya Raid Arkana, Sachiofada Muhammad Mahdafiqhia Ramadhan, Faustine Himawari.

  1. Alternative Uses of EV Battery with Photosynthetic Mimetic Paint (SDG 11) – Innovating eco-friendly applications of electric vehicle batteries using photosynthetic-inspired technology.

Group 8 Members (MAN 2 Kudus): Nabihan Hylmi Fawwaz, Khanza Noor Mayfanny, Luvian Muhammad Farraas Ganesia, Elmyra Prameswari.

  1. Terrasync (SDG 13) – A Roblox-based educational game promoting climate awareness and real-world environmental actions among youth.

Group 9 Members (Asy Syahid Quranic School): Raniya Alqonitha Iskandar, Fathimah Azka Haniyyah, Abdullah Azzam, Abdurrahman Antasena Adzani, Ammar Yasser Fathullah, Muhammad Alliansyah Maulana, Syafiqa Aulia.

  1. Luminary (SDG 4) – A VR-based education system designed to enhance learning experiences for children with autism.

Group 10 Members (Asy Syahid Quranic School): Adzka Rafi Nasrullah, Ahmad Hilmi Syafii, Darrel Athaillah, Ikhsanul Walya Yuwono, Fathia Yuha, Nabila Zafirah, Emira Bahjeti.

  1. BEE4SHINE (SDG 11) – A smart waste bin project equipped with humidity sensors for efficient organic waste detection and management.

Group 11 Members: M. Hidayatullah Nur Khalid, M. Fatih, M. Rakiya Zaidan, M. Fatheer Azzakwan, Yasmin Alwindani Izzati, Fiona Zahra Anugeraha, Samia Haruka Rabbani.

  1. Carbon Budgeting App (SDG 13) – An AI-powered app that tracks and gamifies personal carbon footprints, encouraging users to reduce emissions.

Group 12 Members: Dalendra Raldintama Zainuddin, DK Fitri Nur Batrisya Bte Pg Wadood, Sabrina Sandra Camelia Prihatmanti, Muhsine Afife Özcan, Ngọc Mai Nguyễn, Farrukhbek Abdullaev.

  1. Youth Democracy Education Platform (SDG 4) – Integrating civic education into schools by helping youth understand the role of voting and representation in democracy.

Group 13 Members: Swanie Nelson, Terry Nelson, Piu Vea, Leroy Lauvao, Javani Poko, Faititili Salevao, Jordan Nevaeh Nicholas, Deziah Tuakura-Tuileutu, Tarita Mauri, Axana Aiono, Shekinah Fuifui, Charlotte Sililoto, Krystal Simona, Te Aroha Ihaka, Sylvia Talagi, Terangi Parima.

Judging Panel and Mentorship

The presentations were evaluated by an esteemed panel of experts:

  • Fawad Afridi, Founder of Scholarships Corner
  • Kyoka Sugahara, Entrepreneur and Marketing Consultant, formerly at Unilever Japan
  • Ayik Abdillah, PhD Candidate in Environmental Engineering and Chairman of PPI Kyoto 2025

The judges praised the participants’ creativity, research, and their ability to integrate technology with sustainability-driven solutions.

Kyoka, who was one of the speaker told, “it feels like I’m in a university again, the only Japanese in this conference filled with young brilliant minds, amazing!”
